UTSA Children's Storytelling Workshop - Family Love In My City

UTSA Children's Storytelling Workshop

Saturday, April 02, 2011

I have been slacking on the blog...t-ball is consuming our lives!

But, my mom forwarded me some info about a Children's Storytelling Workshop that UTSA was having at their downtown campus! A local author/illustrator, Xavier Garza, crafts, snacks...and FREE!

The kids had a great time! The author introduced himself, gave a great inspirational talk to the kids about becoming a writer, read 2 of his stories, Charro Claus and the Tejas Kid, and Zulema and the Witch Owl. He also did 2 crafts related to the books he read! A lucha libre mask and a cucuy!

I am definitely going to keep watch for more of these to share with all of you!

Here are some pics of the great event. And links if you are interested in purchasing any books!
