Tower Creek at the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch is now open! {Giveaway}

Friday, May 09, 2014

Disclosure: My family and I were invited to a preview the addition of Tower Creek at the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch and given complimentary admission. However all opinions and pictures are my own.

Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch has opened a new expansion, housing 7 new animal species and their growing giraffe population. Yes, growing! Their newest addition are twin giraffes that turn 1 on Sunday!

Now, I can't tell this story without a ton of pictures, so get ready to scroll through this adventure!

This was our first adventure to the Ranch and we were very excited. To get to Tower Creek, you have to get through the first set of animals in the Drive-Thru. Be prepared for a little bit of a traffic jam of longhorns and buffalo along the way!

Once through, you reach the road to Tower Creek that was actually carved of limestone! The 50 acre expansion sits alongside Cibolo Creek and  houses 4 juvenile giraffes (pictured above), Imapalas, Zebus and almost extinct animals such as the Arabian OryxDama Gazelle, and Bongo Antelope.

While in Tower Creek, you can park and take a moment at the new rest stop and cafe area which will serve ice cream, drinks and snacks. It's a great way to extend your trip and make the most of your visit.  You can stop, stretch your legs, have a snack and take some pics of the awesome hill country views.

On the way back up from Tower Creek, you get to visit the zebras, ostrich, a rhino and more!

These guys were some of the friendliest animals! And by friendliest, I also mean hungriest! So be ready, because they aren't scared to stick their heads in your car!

But no worries, because it all makes for a memorable experience and some great close up shots! So much so, that my daughter wanted to use my phone pictures to draw some animals while we waited in line! You never know when that inspiration will hit, but she's always prepared!

After our first go around, we stopped and had some dinner at the Safari Camp Grill. Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch allows visitors to bring in their own food which is amazing, but you can also sit and have a meal before your long ride home. NBWR provides a nice shaded picnic area near the Lemur Island.

Take a moment to visit the sweet goats at the Petting Zoo. And before rounding out the Drive-Thru for a second time, explore the Walk-A-Bout that houses the only set of living twin giraffes in the U.S.! Wasswa and Nakato were born May 10th, 2013 and their 1st birthday is this Mother's Day!
