The school year has only 2 more months, and Kindergarten has been such a milestone and allowed the twins so much growth! They are in a dual-language Spanish immersion class and it is amazing how they have learned to read in both English and Spanish!
This is a huge accomplishment for a 6 year old and one I couldn't imagine possible if either of them had vision problems. I have always had 20/20 vision, my husband has not, so I do pay special attention to the eye exams their pediatrician conducts.
Transitions Optical is a company that cares about educating and motivating Hispanic consumers to visit eye doctors regularly to help with early detection of vision conditions, such as diabetic retinopathy. One way of helping promote this is their bilingual children's website, Eye Didn't Know That or the Spanish version Yo No Sabia Eso!
The kids love this website because of the games, and we love it because they are learning how important their eyes and vision are!
Transitions also joined with the ADA and promotes free vision screenings at ADA expos, with upcoming dates - Chicago, April 14th and New York, November 3rd.
I encourage everyone to keep up to date with vision screenings for your children, as it as important to their health as it is to their education. And if you are not in Chicago or NYC, have some fun and check out the sites below!
Born and raised in San Antonio, we love taking advantage of all our city has to offer. From UTSA football games to art museums and parks, follow along as we create memories, travel Texas, explore our Mexican American heritage and tackle dual language learning!
